Burmese Cat

In the early 1930s, Dr. Joseph Thompson of San Francisco acquired an attractive walnut-brown female from Burma which he named Wong Mau. Through selectively breeding Wong Mau with the Siamese, the Burmese cat was created. The Burmese is deceptively heavy for it’s appearance, with a glossy short coat hiding a muscular and well developed body. The head should be large and round, with slightly slanted eyes.  Acceptable colors include Sable, Champagne, Blue, and Platinum.

Most cats stay relatively clean and rarely need a bath, but they do need to be brushed or combed to stimulate blood circulation and promote good health. A grooming glove or mitten can make this process as simply as daily petting.
