Turtles As Pets
There are many different types of box turtles. Those most commonly available and best suited to keeping as pets are Common Eastern box turtles and Gulf Coast box turtles. They are inquisitive, bold and personable pets when kept in the correct environment. Box turtles can live 50-60 years if they receive proper care.
Lizards As Pets
Attractive little dinosaur replicas, lizards make popular pets due to their small size and simple care requirements. They are available in many striking color and pattern variations, in sizes from 12″ up to several feet including tail when fully-grown and live over 15 years. Babies may be nervous and excitable at first, but with regular gentle handling will become tame and easy to manage. Supervise children and teach them never to pick it up by lizard’s tail, which may break off.
Snakes As Pets
Snakes often need several days to become comfortable with strangers. Always support the body and allow the head freedom to move about. Your snake’s skin will become tight as it grows and will periodically shed to reveal new skin below. Bluish-white eyes and dull skin indicate it will shed soon. Once the eyes have cleared, help your snake finish shedding by soaking it in luke warm water.
