Somali Cat

With a long, flowing coat, the Somali is a well-proportioned, medium to large cat with firm muscular development. Like its Abyssinian cousin, the Somali features a beautiful ticked coat in blue, fawn, red or ruddy colors. Lithe and active, the Somali shows an alert, lively interest in all surroundings. Its even disposition makes it an ideal companion.  Somalis have small litters of three to four kittens, which develop slowly.

They reach their full size at about eighteen months of age. Most cats stay relatively clean and rarely need a bath, but they do need to be brushed or combed to stimulate blood circulation and promote good health. A grooming glove or mitten can make this process as simply as daily petting.
